Is rubbing alcohol a natural ingredient?

I have been searching for natural homemade cleaning products and many of the recipes I found for glass cleaner call for rubbing alcohol. Is this natural? What about ammonia?

  1. It can be, it is a by product of a natural occurrence. However, just because it is natural doesn't mean it is good for you. Asbestos is natural and it can kill you. I would never use ammonia on anything, it is very dangerous to your lungs and if you read the directions should only be handled with protective gear and a very well ventilated area. I use white vinegar and water in a spray bottle to clean glass, if you have used conventional cleaners before then the 1st batch you may want to put a few drops of liquid soap in the mix, to remove the chemical build up. I also use a microfiber cloth or newspaper to prevent streaks.
