Natural Glass Cleaner

What is the best non toxic cleaner to clean the walls after removing wall paper?

I want it to be non toxic so my pregnant wife doesn't have to leave while I'm doing it. I was told to mix vinegar and water then spray it on the wall, let it sit for a few minutes, then wipe off. Is this legit? The person who told me, likes to mess with me!! Even if it is legit, I would still like to hear some other ideas that have been proven. I don't really want my house to smell like a big pickle!

  1. 409 and elbow grease
  2. DIF wallpaper stripper should be okay, best to read the bottle first. HOT HOT HOT water and a rag with some good old fashioned elbow grease will get it off too. When you're done, make sure you put a coat of primer (Latex Kilz) on the wall before you paint it another color.
  3. vinegar would be your best bet and it is not toxic. I clean nearly everything with 409 cleanser and it does not need rinsing!
  4. Try the vinegar if you have it. It's definately non-toxic & vinegar absorbs other odors so your room will smell fresher, not like a pickle. What works for me is an ounce or two of liquid fabric softener in a spray bottle, fill with water, spray & wipe off until clean. Rinse. Non-toxic. This also works for removing wallpaper.
