Natural Glass Cleaner

Any one know of a really good glass cleaner for headlights?

I took the headlights off of my car, and they have a nasty film on the inside. They're glass, so I want to be careful to not scratch or haze them, and this isn't a job for windex. Anyone know of some really tough but gentle cleaner? I've already tried vinegar and CLR and neither touched it....
